Registration continues for a six-week college-level studio art program offered through the CCECS Summer Session June 17 through July 26 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
The Summer Art Institute three-credit course offerings include: Art 109 Intro to Drawing and Painting and Art 300 Intermediate Studio Seminar. Both courses will be team-taught by visiting studio faculty members: Khalid Kodi of Massachusetts, painting; Jenifer Wofford of California, drawing; Wendy Yothers of New York, small sculpture, and humanities scholar David Goldberg of UH-Manoa, who will provide a seminar on hip-hop culture.
Students will select two of the three studio offerings. All students will be required to participate in the humanities lecture. Tuition of $1,081 includes lab and all Student Life Center and student activity fees.
The Summer Art Institute-Hilo program is made possible in part with funding from the Hawaii Community Foundation Laila Twigg Smith Art Fund.
